How to Have a Boy Pregnancy

Use the Shettles method. The Shettles method is a widely known low-tech method for determining a baby's gender. Women are genetically XX and can only contribute an X chromosome to the baby. Men are genetically XY and contribute either an X or a Y to the baby. If the male contributes an X, the baby is a girl. If the male contributes a Y, the baby is a boy. The Shettles method is based on the theory that Y sperm are faster but die more quickly, while Y sperm are slower but live longer. If you follow the "rules" for how to have a boy, you would need to time intercourse as close to your date of ovulation as possible to allow the faster male sperm to reach the egg first. For this method to be successful you must know your menstrual cycles, precisely your date of ovulation. For detailed instructions on finding your date of ovulation, see the resources section below.
Have an orgasm. It is believed that having an orgasm while trying to conceive can help you to conceive a baby boy. This is because orgasm can cause the vaginal environment to become more alkaline which some say is unfavorable to X sperm and therefore can be detrimental to conceiving a girl.

Eat more. There is a study that linked women who ate more calories and who ate breakfast (specifically cereal) to an increased chance of having a boy.
Have children early. Younger women tend to have more boys than girls, so having children earlier in life can increase your chances of having a boy.
Eat alkaline foods. An acidic environment in the vagina is more harmful to the weaker male sperm which can hurt your chances of conceiving a boy. Eating alkaline foods can help to change the pH of the vaginal tract. Alkaline foods include things such as bananas, chocolate and potatoes.
