Pre-implantation Genetic Diagnosis
Pre-implantation Genetic Diagnosis involves scientifically screening embryos for their gender before allowing them to attach to the uterine wall. This method is only possible when a couple is conceiving via in vitro fertilization. It is a great way to have twins, including twin boys. While not all in vitro fertilizations are successful, if a couple wants to be absolutely certain they will have a boy and only a boy, this is the way to go.
MicroSort
MicroSort is a technology that involves separating male-producing sperm from female-producing sperm. This method is similar to the PGD method, and is considerably less expensive, though not as effective. This method may result in the conception of a female or the failure to conceive.
Shettles
The Shettles method of conceiving a boy is the least effective method of controlling the gender of the embryo. This method involves engaging in intercourse closer to the time of ovulation, making sure to use deeper penetration, and making sure the woman achieves an orgasm during the act of intercourse. This is supposed to make the female body more receptive to the male-producing sperm and less so with the female-producing sperm.
