How to Read a Sperm-Count Test

Collect the semen sample in the specimen cup and allow it to rest for at least 15 minutes.

Swirl the cup and place one drop of collected semen into the test well, using the sterile dropper.

Drop two drops of blue solution into the test well. Wait one minute, then put two drops of clear solution into the test well.

In five minutes the test will be ready to be read. If the color in the test well matches or is darker than the color in the control well, the count is higher than the test's sensitivity.

This is a positive result. If the color is fainter than the control well, a more detailed semen analysis should be performed by a doctor.
