What to Expect in Week 5 of Pregnancy?

Now, if you're aware that you're pregnant and you still don't experience these symptoms, don't worry. You don't really need the morning sickness to experience pregnancy. In fact, a lot of pregnant women who suffers from severe morning sickness will tell you that you're one lucky pregnant lady. But wishing that you go through the normal pregnant stages such as cravings and even vomiting is not unusual too. These symptoms are almost considered clichés because most pregnant women go through this stage and hoping that you experience these is only normal for your journey to motherhood. But if you're really sailing through your early pregnancy, then just be thankful, don't panic and ask your doctor about it, just to be on the safe side.
During the 5th week of your pregnancy, your baby's length is roughly 2 mm long. Fifth week is pretty phenomenal because at this point your baby is starting to take its distinct shape. The neural tube will now run from top to bottom of the embryo. Furthermore, this tube will eventually develop and will be the spinal cord and brain of the baby. On this stage of your pregnancy, a hump in the center of your embryo will form and will become your baby's heart. The placenta develops at this time of the pregnancy, too.

After five weeks and five days of being pregnant, your baby's limb buds becomes noticeable. Aside from the heart, your baby's mouth, jaw and esophagus are starting to develop during this stage.
As for mom, even if you don't feel headaches and fatigue, if you know you're already with child, you should still steer clear of certain food during your pregnancy. Stay away from soft cheeses (feta, brie, blue cheese, etc.), raw food (sushi), undercooked meats (deli meats) and a lot more. Make sure to consult your doctor to know what food you can't consume during pregnancy.
For dad, make sure to educate yourself as well about pregnancy. Just because you're not carrying your child doesn't mean that you shouldn't be interested on what's happening inside your partner's body.
