Pregnancy Ovulation Calendar

Ovulation is the process of releasing a matured egg in the fallopian tubes by the ovaries of a woman. The egg is released and it travels through the fallopian tubes to the uterus. If you make love during this time, then a sperm can fertilize the egg or else it disintegrates naturally and comes out of the body in the form of blood. Ideally, ovulation should take place 2 weeks into menstruation cycle. However, this is not a general rule and it differs from woman to woman. It differs because women do not experience same length of menstruation. Hence, the day from which ovulation starts is also not the same for all. There are other factors affecting ovulation as well like stress and medical conditions.
A pregnancy ovulation calendar aids you to track any kind of alteration in your menstruation cycle. This will enable you to predict the beginning of your luteal phase. This phase begins from the end of ovulation and continues till day one of menstruation cycle. The peak fertility days, that is one day before and after ovulation can be predicted with the help of pregnancy ovulation calendar. There are several websites that offer free ovulation calendar so that you can use it and track your peak fertility days.

The pregnancy ovulation calendar is a useful tool, but used alone does not provide the best of results. To derive best results you have to keep a track of your basal body temperature or BBT. This is the temperature of your body at rest. Your basal body temperature varies through the menstrual cycle and helps you in figuring out the peak fertility days. The menstrual cycle is divided into parts and the first part consisting of the days after your period, your BBT stays between 96 and 98 degrees. However, during ovulation it can rise up to 99 degrees. This remains till you get your next period. Use a digital special thermometer for measuring your basal temperature.
Start using the pregnancy ovulation calendar from day one of your menstrual cycle. Put the date of Day 1 on top left and also take the BBT in the morning and note it down. Avoid drinking alcohol and sleeping late as they alter body temperature. Temperatures between 96.8 and 99 degrees are provided on the calendar where you need to put down the reading. Simply connect the dots after your period ends to know when ovulation has occurred or will take place next. Continuous elevation of temperature means you are ovulating and repeating this practice will help you chart a pattern in the menstrual cycle.
