How to Know if you are Ovulating

Ovulation is when the ovary releases a mature egg that if fertilized, turns into a pregnancy. Follow these steps to track ovulation, helping to increase the chances of becoming pregnant.
Make an ovulation calendar.
Ovulation occurs roughly on the 14th day of the menstrual cycle. Using an ovulation calculator makes tracking ovulation periods easy. Ovulation calendars are easy and free to download from the internet.

Record and make note of when you get cramps.
There is a small percentage of women that can actually feel when they are ovulating. It can be rather uncomfortable and feel like mild menstrual cramping, usually in the middle of the ovulation cycle. This is when progesterone levels are highest and the lining of the uterus is most conducive to a successful pregnancy.
Take your basil temperature.
A basil body temperature calendar can also help track ovulation and when conception is most likely. Use the calendar to record body temperature first thing in the morning; there is a rise in temperature around the times of ovulation. These are times when pregnancy is most likely.
Track your period.
A simple way to predict ovulation cycles is to note when the next period is due, and count backwards about 2 weeks. This is likely a time of ovulation.
